In the rural heart of Charaideo District, Assam, a vision took shape on the 11th of August, 1988. A small group of dedicated individuals from Sapekhati and its surrounding areas came together, driven by a shared dream to bring education to their community. This dream materialized in the form of Sapekhati College, a beacon of knowledge and hope in a region where such opportunities were scarce.
Nestled in a serene setting, the college began its journey with a mission to uplift and educate the diverse population around it. Over the years, Sapekhati College has been more than just an educational institution; it has become a cornerstone for students from the Tea-Tribes, SC-ST, OBC communities, and even those from the neighboring states of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
The college campus, spread across 3.0059 acres of land, boasts the necessary infrastructure to support its growing student body. With a three-year B.A. degree course (CBCS) divided into six semesters, the college offers a range of subjects including Assamese, English, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, and Sociology. Beyond these, students have the opportunity to pursue degree and certificate courses through the KKHSOU and Dibrugarh University's Distance Education Study Center (DUDODL).
Despite its rural roots, Sapekhati College has consistently strived to meet the rising demand for higher education in its region. The dedicated teaching staff are more than just instructors; they are mentors, ready to guide and inspire each student, ensuring that every individual receives the attention and support they need to thrive.
Permanently affiliated with Dibrugarh University, and recognized under sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act of 1956, Sapekhati College stands as a testament to what can be achieved through determination and community spirit. It continues to shine as a source of education and empowerment, leaving an indelible mark on all who pass through its doors.
